Covid and Short Wedding Photography Cover in Aberdeen
09th October 2020
It's been a good while since I updated the blog and the recent round of changes in Covid guidance in regards to Aberdeen has prompted me to finally get round to it!
Here in Aberdeen, just like everywhere else, it's been heartbreaking to see couples having to postpone, and in some cases, cancel their weddings. Lots of my clients come from overseas, sometimes to come back to the ancestral homeland and sometimes just because it's such a beautiful part of the world. These cancellations have hit me the hardest I think - often years in the planning, these weddings would involved the movement of dozens of guests from other countries and were timed very carefully to suit as many guests as possible.
The local wedding postponements are no less sad but I do live in hope that most will come back next year and try again (and secretly, I think some brides almost relish getting to plan another wedding!).
Taking all this into account, along with the fact that no-one can really even guess what the situation will be in 2021, I've come up with a package to suit the new, 'stripped down' style of wedding we're currently seeing. To be honest, as you'll see if you look through the website, I've always been in my happy place at smaller, more intimate gatherings. It's a different pace, a different way of working, a chance to become more involved in the day. Documentary wedding photography really isn't about rushing around taking sneaky snaps of every single guest - it's about calmly looking for beautiful images - thinking about composition, light and how to tell a story in as few photos as possible, so small gatherings are ideal.
You can read about the new Aberdeen Short Cover Wedding Photography Package by clicking the link <<< which will take you to my 'Weddings' page.
Hopefully it will address the new way of doing things in the meantime and clients can, as always, expect the very best, story-telling, documentary photos possible.
