New Sample Albums and Lockdown.

03rd April 2020
A lockdown is a great time for wedding photographers to start thinking about updating tired old sample albums with fresh content, so it's a bit of a shame I started ordering all mine a few weeks before the lockdown began...! Here in Aberdeen, it's a similar story to everywhere else in the UK - lots of wedding postponements but still lots of hope and lots to look forward to in the future.

Anyway, I took advantage of a few special offers from a few different companies to see what's new, what's good and what's awful in the way of wedding albums these days. It's been a good while since I had new ones made up to show couples and it's been an eye opening experience.

Today though, I'm only going to talk about the one I had made up by Saal Digital. I've used this company in the past for wall art, especially their aluminium backed prints which come in a variety of finishes. Those products have always impressed me with their sturdiness and their polished look. Similar offerings from other companies have arrived with ragged edges, scratches and so on but Saal's have always been spot on.

Saal are also incredibly efficient - they're not the cheapest (or the priciest) but everything I've bought from them has arrived exactly when it's supposed to in good, solid packaging, so I had every faith their wedding albums would be just as good. I wasn't disappointed! Super fast delivery, great print quality, solid build quality... I'll let the photos do the talking.

I went for an acrylic cover with a full image on the front and a soft, neutral coloured linen box but there's an endless variety of materials to choose from.

The pages lie flat to allow for massive double page images if you want them. This also makes the images easier to see, right to the edges of the pages.

I've lots of other new bits and pieces to show off but in the meantime, if you're thinking about a photographer for 2021 / 22, it's no surprise that there aren't many dates left as all this year's couples are now booking up next year's free dates... So please do get in touch sooner rather than later and please stay safe :-)
